The Great Otway National and State parks are full of hiking opportunities, with so many nature trails leading past waterfalls, reaching mountain peaks or skirting stunning lakes. The waterways of the Otways are rewarding for anglers keen on river and lake fishing. The West Barwon Dam for reddies, eels and trout. Bream, perch and mullet in the Gellibrand and Aire rivers. A haven for fishers of freshies.
If a bit of four wheel driving is more your thing, the tracks joining Anglesea, through the back roads to Apollo Bay via Deans Marsh, Big Hill and into Beech Forest are a blast. Stop off along the way for some great bushwalking tracks leading to Erskine, Beauchamp, and Triplet falls. Or visit the Giant Redwoods for a bit of astounding silence. Love horse riding?
